IIIC- Industry Institute Interaction Cell
In this highly competitive world, it has become indispensible to create engineers who are ready to take on industrial challenges .Keeping this in view & to develop industry ready engineers,an Industry institute interaction cell was established in December 2010under the inchargeship of Mr. J.Subba Reddy, Associate Professor & HOD of Mechanical Engineering. The following are the objectives and the schemes would be undertaken for the Academic Year 2010-11

Objectives of IIIC:
Better interaction between Technical institutions and industry is the need of the hour. This will have great bearing on the Engineering Curriculum, exposure of industrial atmosphere to engineering students and subsequent placement of young graduating engineers in industries across the country. With the advent of globalization and opening up of Indian economy to outside world, competition among industries has become stiff. To solve their engineering problems they look up now to Engineering Institutions. Similarly, there is an urgent need to prepare engineering students for jobs in multinational companies, by exposing them to Newer Technologies and Engineering Methodologies. These objectives can only be achieved well by bridging the gap between industry and the Academic Institute.

To promote Industry - Institute Interaction following schemes are being undertaken:
1. Organizing Workshops, conferences and symposia with joint participation of the faculty and the industries.
2. Encouraging engineers from industry to visit our Institution to deliver lectures.
3. Participation of experts from industry in curriculum development.
4. Arranging visits of staff members to various industries.
5. Professional consultancy by the faculty to industries.
6. Industrial testing by faculty & technicians at site or in laboratory.
7. Joint research programmes and field studies by faculty and people from industries.
8. Visits of faculty to industry for study and discussions or delivering lectures on subjects of mutual interest.
9.  Visits of industry executives and practicing engineers to the Institute for seeing research work and laboratories, discussions and delivering lectures on industrial practices, trends and experiences.
10. Memoranda of Understanding between the Institute and industries to bring the two sides emotionally and strategically closer.
11. Human resource development programmes by the faculty for practicing engineers.
12. Collaborative degree programmes.
13. B.Tech. and M.Tech. Projects/dissertation work in industries under joint guidance of the faculty and experts from industry.
14. Short-term assignment to faculty members in industries.
15. Visiting faculty/professors from industries.
16. Professorial Chairs sponsored by industries at the Institute.
17. R & D Laboratories sponsored by industries at the Institute.
18. Scholarships/fellowships instituted by industries at the Institute for students.
19. Practical training of students in industries.

In view of implementing the above schemes, the HODs are required to send the proposals to the Principal as early as possible for further processing.

Sri Venkateswara Engineering College to be the Centre of Excellence for Industrial Research in India.

To make Sri Venkateswara Engineering College a pivotal node in Industrial Research, Consultancy, Continuing Education for Industry.

Sri Venkateswara Engineering College has placed emphasis on the cultivation of strong links with industry and promotion of various industrial activities by the faculty members and students. In order to keep up with the growing volume of industrial liaison activities, and even more importantly, to catalyze the further growth and development of interaction between the Institute and Industry, a separate cell (Industry-Institute Interaction Cell - IIIC) was established in the year 2011.

IIIC coordinates with all the faculties of the college and Industry,
1. To have a closer linkage and promote research suited to industry needs, and consultancy which creates a sense of owning among faculty members.
2. To provide continuing education to people working in industries so that they can upgrade their technical knowledge, and / or obtain higher degrees; this orients the faculty members towards the industry from the portals of College i.e. Academics.
3. To enable academics to take a sabbatical in industries; provide internships for students in industries, which will prepare the students better for entering the industry;
4. To create an industrial chair in the university; and to enable the appointment of experienced industry resource persons as visiting faculty in the College

IIIC has a plan to brought about a number of MoUs and Agreements with various industrial and research organizations in different fields and sectors to promote various forms of interactions.

Different Forms of Industry-Institute Interaction at SVES would be:
1. Industrial Research & Consultancy
2. Industrial testing (Proofing & Calibration)
3. Sponsored industrial research
4. Use of industrial labs by College
5. Use of specialized database / lab equipment of the college
6. Research guidance from industry
7. Creation of collaborative labs / testing centre at the college
8. Joint research publication
9. Solutions for field problems
10. Analysis & Design problems
11. Research fellowship support
12. Joint patents
13. Creation of industrial chair to support research
14. Continuing Education for Industry
15. Short-Term Training Programmes
16. Onsite Educational Programmes
17. Part time Educational Programmes
18. Collaborative Educational Programmes
19. Industry-Institute Exchange
20. Visiting faculty from industry
21. Training programmes / Short term assignments to the faculty members in industries
22. Joint industrial projects for faculty
23. Participation of industrial experts in curriculum design
24. Sabbatical level assignments to the faculty members and other areas of mutual interest.
